Happy holidays! I hope you have something fantastic planned to celebrate the end of this year and the new year to come.
As the year winds down, and it is doing so very quickly, I am taking the opportunity to review what has happened in 2011 and plan for 2012.
Here are some of the highlights
The Maoomba blog was refined to focus on real food – delicious, whole food that nurtures and is healthy for us, yet is easy to prepare, and naturally free of gluten and dairy. I’ll continue to build on this theme next year. And, I am grateful for the number of you who stuck with me or signed up for my weekly newsletter since this shift.
I had the honor of working with several social entrepreneurs whose businesses sell fair-trade foods – like honey and cinnamon – and foster economic empowerment among their clients, employees, and suppliers. Next year, as they develop further and launch, I hope to share their stories with you.
Over the year, I have also met a number of other people who love good food as much as I do and with whom I have plans to collaborate in the coming year to expand Maoomba beyond the blog.
I finished a proposal and sample chapters – a major feat for me – for a cookbook I have been working on this year. Next year will be an adventure in finding an agent and navigating the ever-changing world of publishing.
Finally, I have set in motion a number of ideas and plans that I will share in January and throughout the year as they come to fruition.
I hope you’ll stay tuned.
